Our Mammoth Favorites

Its no secret that Mammoth Mountain is like a second home to us. Actually, its more like ALL of the Eastern Sierras are a second home to us but lets just focus on Mammoth. We spend a majority of our year traveling up there to backpack, snowboard, mountain bike, fly fish.... anything we like to do outdoors we do it there. With all the time we spend up there its no surprise that we have our favorite spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat. Here are our top 5 Favorite Eats In Mammoth California:

Number Five: John's Pizza

There isn't really anything super special about this place EXCEPT that they have a full bar, TVs to watch sports, Music playing and the pizza is pretty damn good. Also, its on the cheaper side. When we stay near by its our favorite place to walk to, drink, and hang out. Got a family? No worries, there is the restaurant side like a normal pizza place (arcade games included). No kids? Perfect! There is a separate bar area just for the adults. Want just a bar hang out spot? The Clock Tower at the Alpenhof is where you should go. It didn't make our list but its definitely an honorable mention for the party scene.

Number Four: Mammoth Brewing Co. + Eatery

After a long day of shredding the mountain we are usually starved and ready for another beer! We head back to the village and go straight to Mammoth Brewery. We have been going here since they first opened up years ago. We love their beer and lucky for us they added The Eatery. Want to eat rich tasting food? This is the place to go! The menu is constantly changing with delicious options. Our favorite so far (that we both can agree on) has to be The Damn Good Burger which comes with smoked gouda, Garlic Aioli, bacon jam, a delicious juicy burger patty... shall I go on or are you drooling already??? We obviously pair this with our favorite beers; Yosemite Pale Ale (formally known as Paranoids... still upset they changed the name) and the Epic IPA. They just got a new Head Brewer this past year so we are excited for all the new stuff to come.

Number Three: Bleu Market and Wine Bar

In the mood for a wine tasting with some tasty meats and cheeses? This is the place to go! They carry freshly baked artisan breads, an assortment of cheeses and cured meats, and a wide selection of craft beers and wines. They let you try before you buy (except the beers obviously) and make sure that when you leave, you're leaving with stuff you like. Quick Side Note: The guy who owns/runs Bleu Market and Wine Bar is also the guy who runs The Eatery at Mammoth Brewery. No surprise, they are both delicious!

Number Two: Black Velvet Coffee

Leave the house around 4am, drive four and half hours to Mammoth, get there by 8am and our first stop before hitting the mountain is ALWAYS Black Velvet Coffee. They are an amazing Craft Coffee Roaster, Espresso Bar & Tea Shop that hits the spot. Not in the mood for coffee or tea? They also offer amazing craft beer and even have a wine bar upstairs! The atmosphere is so calming. They truly bring the outdoor feel inside. My favorite drink is their Blood Orange Green Tea, while Luke is constantly trying new coffees since they are regularly changing them out. Their espresso shot has tons of flavor and they are pros at their Pour Overs. There is nothing better then drinking your coffee or tea, sitting in the Mill Parking Lot, looking up at the mountain while you wait for the lifts to start running.

Number One: The Stove

Home Style Cooking. Big Portions. Great Prices. Shall I go on??? The Stove is our all time favorite breakfast place! Seriously, there is a reason we are listing this as Number One! They have everything you could ever want for breakfast. Sometimes I feel as if we need to be rolled out of there because we are incredibly stuffed. Our favorite has to be their Cinnamon Swirl French Toast. Its super filling! Get the French Toast in their Stove Special and you'll feel like you had died and gone to heaven. Its big enough for two to share, but you won't want to. Another favorite of Luke's is their Western Omelet. Its filled to the brim with deliciousness! Ham, onions, bell pepper, Ortega chili, tomatoes, jack and cheddar cheese topped with bacon. Just thinking about all of this is making me hungry. Is it time to go to Mammoth yet????
